Marriott School Clubs

The Student Council

The Student Council acts as an umbrella organization for over 25 clubs. The Student Council helps new clubs organize and existing clubs schedule and manage resources. Members of the student council include the President, two Vice-Presidents, Master Program Association Presidents, the MUSA President, and Marriott School SAC reps. MUSA (Marriott Undergraduate Student Association)

All undergraduate students are automatically members of MUSA. This association has the support of the faculty and staff of the Marriott School, as it strives to improve the overall student experience for every undergraduate student in the Marriott School. Registration and Dues

Club registration and payment of dues is done online. When you are ready to register for a club, have your credit card ready and log in at the Marriott School Club Registration login page. Follow the given instructions. If you do not receive a receipt at the end of the processs, the registration was not complete. Please contact the Marriott School Web Team if this happens to you. If you must pay by check, don't use the online system. Come to 490 TNRB, and the secretary will take your check and enter you into the system.

Club Utilities

Each club has a set of online utilites to assist officers in managing club affairs. Features include sending club-wide email, editing membership records, scheduling calendar events, and uploading files to the club's folder on the Marriott School server. Personal Information

It is every student's responsibility to keep their personal information (email, phone, etc.) up to date. If you are not receiving club emails first check to make sure your email is up to date (the clubs system uses the current email address not the permanent). The Marriott School system is separate from Route Y. You need to update your information here as well as Route Y.

Alliance of Students Against Poverty (ASAP)

The mission of the Economic Self-Reliance Student Association is to provide students knowledge and skills pertaining to global poverty and improvidence and to connect students with non-profit organizations for internship opportunities. 

Association for Systems Management (ASM)

The Association for Systems Management (ASM) is a Marriott School student organization that expands student's knowledge of the Information Systems industry, offering training on new and useful skills. By providing students with guidance in their school and career planning, the ASM keeps students informed and gives them a chance to build relationships, network, and have fun. The ASM is also dedicated to supporting recruiters in publicizing and organizing events. The goal of ASM officers is to provide services to both students and the community by improving awareness of the Information Systems industry.

ASM is designed to be fully complimentary to the BS Information Systems and the Masters of Information Systems Management programs. ASM is the largest and most active club in BYU's Marriott School. Our membership consists of a significant majority of the Information Systems program, as well as technology-savvy students from other programs in the school. Members of ASM want to learn emerging technologies, network with prospective employers, and have fun.  

Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi promotes professional attitudes, scholastic excellence, and interaction between students and professionals. BAP is a national scholastic organization for Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems Majors. It provides opportunities to receive scholarships, network with professionals, build your resume, and provide meaningful service.  

Business Strategy Club

The Business Strategy Club (BSC) provides undergraduate and MBA consulting for local and national companies. We offer marketing, operational, financial, strategic, and supply chain solutions to real companies. Work in teams to learn, employ, and analyze strategies—and present your solutions to CEOs, owners, and executives of companies. Past clients include: Ivory Homes, Associated Foods, Miller Motorsports Park and others. Come get real experience and put something worthwhile on your resume.

In addition to promoting the mission of BYU and the Marriott School, the primary mission of the Graduate Finance Association is to better prepare graduate school candidates to interview for and accept positions in the field of finance. The Association will offer valuable skill-building workshops, lectures from practitioners in the field of finance and also work with Career Services to increase our member's marketability in their career placement efforts. We recognize the unique expectations that employers have for recruits at the graduate level as well as the fact that MBA, MOB, MAcc, MISM, and MPA students have very demanding class and recruiting schedules. Therefore, the Graduate Finance Association will be a focused organization with clear objectives and limited but value-added activities and functions.

The Management Consulting Club helps BYU undergraduates launch management consulting careers. We offer exposure to the industry, details on the recruiting process at BYU, networking opportunities with current and former consultants and alumni, interview preparation and practice, leadership opportunities, and over 100 online preparation resources through the MCC Blackboard account. Our organization is geared primarily toward undergraduate placement as most major firms do not generally recruit BYU MBA students at this time. However, the resources we have available will be pertinent to both undergraduate and graduate career preparation. The MBA Student Association (MBAA) is an organization developed and run by students to provide both social and business related extracurricular activities. All MBA students in the full-time program are automatically adopted into the membership of this association. In the past, the MBAA has sponsored seminars by nationally known business professionals, firesides by prominent LDS Church authorities, community service projects, barbecues, sports and cultural activities, dinners, and dances. The most important activities of the MBAA relate to student involvement in promoting excellence in the program. We have nine different divisions that make up the MBAA—Academic Affairs, Alumni Relations, Athletics, Communications, Finance, Recruiting, Service, Single Affairs, Social Affairs, and Spiritual Issues. Second year students head-up the committees comprised of both first and second year elected individuals. All committees make valuable contributions within the MBAA and to the MBA community as a whole.
